Expedia Charitable Giving Overview To ensure maximum impact in our charitable giving, Expedia directs its contributions to a limited number of charitable organizations. We are unable to respond to unsolicited requests for charitable support. Global Charitable Partnership The cornerstone of Expedia's corporate responsibility strategy is its leadership role in the World Heritage Alliance (WHA). In 2005, Expedia and the United Nations Foundation founded the WHA and together we are convening travel industry partners, the traveling public, and local communities in an effort to advance conservation of UNESCO World Heritage sites around the globe. Each year, Expedia sends a team of employees to World Heritage sites to help local tourism cooperatives develop business plans to promote, enhance, and conserve their unique tourism assets. Local Charitable Partnerships Expedia supports a limited number of charitable partners in the Seattle area. Our focus areas include human services, youth programs, and the environment. We support these partnerships through chartable giving, volunteerism, and board membership. Please note that Expedia is not accepting solicitations for additional charitable partners. In-Kind Contributions Unfortunately, Expedia is unable to provide in-kind donations, including travel-related items such as airfare or hotel stays. Also, due to the large volume of requests received, we are unable to personally respond to solicitations for such items. Matching Gifts Expedia supports the causes its employees care about through its matching gift program. Employee contributions made to 501(c)(3) organizations and educational institutions are matched dollar for dollar, up to $5,000 annually for employees based in the United States and Canada. Organizations are notified electronically when an employee has requested a matching contribution on their behalf, and funds are distributed quarterly. Volunteerism Expedia encourages its employees to share their time and talent with the community through volunteerism that is personally meaningful. In addition to participating in company-sponsored volunteer events such as Seattle Works Day, Expedia employees personally volunteer with a variety of organizations. Charitable Event Sponsorships Unfortunately, Expedia is not accepting unsolicited requests to sponsor charitable events. Also, due to the volume of requests received, we are unable to personally respond to solicitations for charitable sponsorships.
